Windsor Cares: Donate Today to Support University of Windsor Students in Canada

How Windsor Cares Supports Students

Windsor Cares is a student‑run initiative at the University of Windsor that removes everyday barriers for students in Canada. By providing professional clothing, food, hygiene products and harm‑reduction supplies, the program lets students focus on academics, interviews and career development.

Professional Clothing Closet

The closet began with a single rack of suits and blazers. Today it offers a full range of business attire—suits, blazers, dresses, shoes, bags and accessories—so students can present themselves confidently at interviews, networking events and work placements.

Food and Hygiene Pantry

Co‑created by Emily Kydd and Meg Gregoire, the pantry supplies non‑perishable food, toiletries, and self‑care items. The inventory is curated with a harm‑reduction mindset, ensuring students have the essentials they need without stigma.

Harm Reduction and Community Care

Beyond basic supplies, Windsor Cares offers resources that support mental and physical well‑being, reinforcing a campus culture of compassion and mutual support.

Why Your Support Matters

Every donation—cash or in‑kind—keeps the program running year‑round and allows rapid response during peak demand periods. Financial contributions are especially critical for sustaining the closet and pantry, covering storage, transportation, and staff time.

Financial Contributions

Cash donations fund new inventory, expand storage space, and enable the February raffle, which raises additional funds for the program.

In‑Kind Donations

Professional clothing, hygiene products, and gently used books are always welcome. Shipping to the Ron W. Ianni Faculty of Law Building or arranging a pickup is simple—just contact Windsor Cares.

How to Get Involved

There are several ways to help Windsor Cares thrive:

  • Donate Cash: Visit the University of Windsor donation page and select Windsor Cares.
  • Donate Clothing: Bring new or gently used professional attire to the closet or ship it directly to the law building.
  • Volunteer: Assist with sorting donations, organizing the pantry, or running the February raffle.
  • Partner: Local businesses can sponsor events or provide gift cards for the raffle.

Upcoming Events and Raffles

The annual February raffle is a key fundraiser. Participants can win gift cards, experiences, and services that support student success. Your sponsorship or donation of raffle items directly fuels the program’s impact.
