Student in Library

During this pandemic that is affecting all aspects of our lives, students may have had to put many things on hold during 2020 but education doesn't have to be one of them.

There is still time for students to benefit from a high-quality education and earn a degree from a top university without delaying their study plans. There is a range of study options available for international students to start their studies this January or February and progress to their chosen university in September 2021.

Flexible study options

Most colleges and study centers offer a choice of study options so that students can feel confident about starting their program, keep their studies on track and achieve their university goals. For most programs, students can choose how they study, with the option to either study on campus or virtually from home. Students who choose to study on campus can expect:

  • Experienced teachers and support staff
  • A supportive international community
  • One-to-one support at every stage
  • Additional health and safety measures
  • A mixture of face-to-face and virtual teacher-led learning

We know that international students may be unsure about travelling or unable to travel at the moment with all the travel restrictions in place, or just prefer to study from the comfort of their home. That's why many colleges offer two flexible options for virtual learning.

Most of the centers and programs provide the flexibility for students to:

  • Start virtually from home and join us on campus during their program
  • Study their whole program via virtual, teacher-led learning by agreement*

Studying virtually, students can expect:

  • Virtual teacher-led learning
  • Online international community
  • Experienced teachers and support staff
  • One-to-one support at every stage
  • Supportive staff to help them transition to studying on campus when the time comes

Choose how to study!

However students choose to study, experienced specialist staff will be available to offer academic guidance, tutorial sessions and careers advice as well as personal and welfare support.

Subject to meeting progression requirements, students can assure their progression to their chosen university in September 2021 however they choose to study. Due to exceptional circumstances related to the pandemic, universities have committed to recognizing online-only teaching and assessment for progression from many colleges and study centers.

Local guidelines and restrictions

In several regions of the UK and Europe, to help stop and prevent the spread of COVID-19, local restrictions have been announced by the Government. The restrictions were carefully put in place so that it will not affect students’ studies.  On-campus and virtual learning will continue as planned.

*We hope students will be able to travel and study on campus. If, however, they are unable to travel for the whole of their pathway program they can complete their studies from home by exception and with agreement from the Head of Centre. The University will recognize virtual-only study and assessment for progression to the 2021/22 academic year due to the exceptional circumstances related to COVID-19, with the agreement from the Head of Centre and on the condition that they have met the progression requirements.
