What is IELTS?

The full form of IELTS is International English Language Testing System. IELTS is the world's most accepted English language proficiency test for higher education, global migration and work in international countries.

IELTS exam is required to be taken by international applicants seeking to study abroad or work in a country where English is the main language of communication. The exam mainly measures the ability of candidates to communicate in the four basic language skills – listening, reading, speaking, and writing.

Which countries accept IELTS?

Is IELTS exam difficult?

Which IELTS exam is right for you?

IELTS Academic

The IELTS Academic test is for candidates who are looking to apply for higher education and those seeking professional registration in English speaking countries. The test reflects some of the features of the academic language and to analyse whether you are ready to begin studying or training.

IELTS General Training

The IELTS General Training test is for those who are going to English speaking countries for below level degree programs, work experience or training programs. It is also necessary for migration to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. The test focuses on basic survival skills in broad, social and workplace contexts.

UKVI for IELTS

UKVI is a UK government approved Secure English Language Test. This means that IELTS can be used to determine your English language skills in support of a UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) application. The format, content, examiners, the level of difficulty, scoring, etc are exactly similar in case of IELTS for UKVI. The only difference is in the Test Report Forms that are somewhat different, to give you a feeling that you have attained the test at an IELTS UK visa session.
